Nelson A. Sanni

Nelson is the Managing Consultant of the firm. He brings over 24 years of accounting, tax, general business management and consulting experience from different multinational organisations to the management of the firm. Nelson started his early Career with ReckittBenckiser Nigeria Ltd, a wholly owned Subsidiary of ReckittBenckiser UK where he spent 10 years in different accounting, taxation, general business and project management roles. At ReckittBenckiser, he was nominated to membership of Critical Business Initiative team (CBIT), a team formed to refocus the business on factory expansion, waste reduction and profitability. He continued to take higher tasking responsibilities in the company including managing Federal Inland Revenue tax investigation (back duty assessment) conducted by The Federal Inland Revenue Tax Investigation Bureau that covered several years and achieved success.
He left ReckittBenckiser Financial Accountant position in 2003 to Join Accelon Nigeria Limited (now internet Solutions Nigeria Ltd) which was a newly established IT company as Management Accountant. He was the first Nigerian Accountant to join the company and helped to navigate both Accounting system set up and regulatory processes. As Management Accountant he had responsibility for business performance analysis, policies, strategy formulation and standard operating procedures design and implementation. Accelon being a new company set up by Venture Capitalist, he was part of the team that managed the business to the point of break-even before its acquisition by Dimension Data Pty Ltd who changed the name to IT Solutions Nigeria Ltd. He left Accelon before the final Acquisition in 2006 to GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc as a Senior Finance Manager under a share Service arrangement to other local GSK entities owned by GSK Group UK.
At GSK, he recorded outstanding performance and had promotions to distinct roles of higher responsibilities, Treasury Manager Share Services, Head (Director) Corporate Reporting & Commercial procurement, Head (Director) Financial Share Services, Head (Director) Corporate Reporting/taxation. He led the IFRS conversion for all the three GSK entities in Nigeria in collaboration with EY. As head of commercial procurement, he led many projects to refocus procurement with adequate controls and commercial excellence. As Head of Financial Share Services, he was responsible for the overall financial accounting functions, risk identification, assessment and remediation, financial control, financial reporting, taxation and external audit management for all GSK entities. He was a regular presenter of the quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements to The Audit Committee, Board Finance Committee and sometimes the Board. He took overall responsibility for signing the GSK Consumer Nigeria Plc Audited Financial Statements for many years. He also represented the company at different global Investors forum organised in Nigeria.
In 2014, the company came under tax audit for a six years period by The Federal Inland Revenue Service which made the company to appoint him to the role of Head of Corporate Reporting/taxation to keep him focussed on financial reporting and resolving the audit. He also concluded the tax audit in 2016 working with the tax consultants- KPMG. Nelson developed expansive knowledge in tax planning, administration and audit in difference companies. He has been involved in transfer pricing documentation for the GSK entities for several years.
Nelson’s technical expertise is wide-ranging covering financial reporting and controls, audit, taxation, commercial procurement, corporate strategy, solving complex business problems and assisting different organisations to execute business solutions in line with their corporate strategies.

He left GSK Group in January 2018 to pursue his passionate dream of providing valued consulting services to clients locally and internationally.
He resumed consulting for GlaxoSmithKline entities in February 2018 on taxation, accounting, business process improvement and compliance
